How To Bet On The 2024 NHL Playoffs From USA

By Hockey

The 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin this Saturday, April 20th. The playoffs bracket is set and each teams road to the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals is defined.

The divisions will do battle in rounds 1 and 2, and then the division champion will move on to the Eastern and Western Conference Finals, and those winners will advance to compete for the Stanley Cup. The Stanley Cup Finals are expected to be complete in June.

On this page I will provide you with everything you need to bet on the 2024 NHL Playoffs from anywhere in the United States. I’ve outlined our top rated betting sites for Americans, touched on the different bets you can make on the NHL Playoffs and finished with a simple 3 step guide you can follow to place your bets online.

I will be using screenshots and examples from BetOnline.ag, our top betting site, for the remainder of this guide.

Stanley Cup Futures Betting

One of the most popular bets during the NHL Playoffs is simply to wager on the eventual Stanley Cup Champion. This futures bet gives you a sweat through the entire playoffs and if your pick hits you can be in for a big payday.

These odds are found at BetOnline.ag by opening the ‘Hockey’ drop down menu and selecting ‘NHL Futures’ -> ‘Stanley Cup’. Here is a screenshot taken before the first round.

You can also bet on the Conference winners in the same NHL Futures section as well.

NHL Series Winner Betting

Another popular bet is wagering on which team will win a 7 game series. These are my favourite bets in the NHL Playoffs because they give you a multi-game bet and the 7 game series reduces the variance so you can often find +ROI bets if your predictions are correct.

You can also bet on each NHL Playoff Series at any time during the series (the bet doesn’t have to be made when the series starts).

Here’s a screenshot of the odds for the Colorado Avalanche vs Winnipeg Jets series.

These odds can be found on the BetOnline website under the ‘Hockey’ drop down menu by selecting ‘NHL’ -> ‘NHL SERIES’.

NHL Playoff Game Betting

You can also wager on every game throughout the NHL Playoffs. The three most popular NHL game bets are the money line (to win), puck line (spread) and over/under (total).

Here’s a screenshot showing game 1 of the Islanders vs Hurricanes series:

In this example the Hurricanes are -213 favorites to win the game. That means a $213 bet on Carolina would win $100 (payout $313). The Islanders are +189 underdogs, so a $100 bet on the Islanders would win $189.
